Best Design Festivals and Exhibitions To Visit in 2022

Now that things are getting back to some sort of normality, we can actually start to look at what design festivals and exhibitions would be good to see this year. Whilst you definitely don’t need to go to every single one to keep up to date (although what a fun job that would be), even as an interior render artist, it’s always good to go to a few throughout the year. Here is a list of design festivals and exhibitions going on this year:

Maison & Objet – 24th-28th March

This has moved from it’s normal January slot to March (so hopefully a little sunnier!) in Paris. It’s an absolutely huge exhibition where many furniture and homeware designers display their latest collections. It’s a great way to see what trends are coming and of course start building relationships with designers and manufacturers. They also have a parallel event happening in the city called Maison & Objet in the City www.maison-objet.com/en/paris

DesignMarch – 4th-8th May

Iceland´s largest design festival which again traditionally is in March hence the name but due to you no what has been put back to May. DesignMarch likes to look for progressive design and innovation with their exhibitors. www.designmarch.is

Clerkenwell Design Week – 24th-26th May

Clerkenwell Design Week celebrates the rich and diverse community in and around the area, with many companies and designers opening their doors and exhibiting their works. As it’s close to home, it’s definitely one I am gong to attend! www.clerkenwelldesignweek.com

Salone del Mobile – 7th–12th June

Part of the Milan Design Week, this huge furniture fair returns this summer in June, not in their traditional Spring shot, but it’ll be lovely and sunny!

It’s the world’s biggest annual design gathering encompasses the giant trade fair Fiera Milano Exhibition Centure and fringe events hosted in many different locations across the city. This is one i’m certainly going to make an effort to attend! www.salonemilano.it/en

London Festival of Architecture – 1st-30th June

London Festival of Architecture is the world’s largest annual architecture festival, with a mission to democratise discussions around architecture, test new ideas and uncover and promote new talent.  Another one I will be attending throughout the month! www.londonfestivalofarchitecture.org

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair  – 6th-9th September

Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair is the world’s leading meeting place for Scandinavian design! www.stockholmfurniturelightfair.se

Design Miami – 30th Nov – 4th December

Design Miami/ is more than a marketplace for design, where the world’s top galleries gather to present museum-quality exhibitions of twentieth and twenty-first century furniture, lighting and objets d’art.  One I would like to attend, not just because it’s near my birthday or that it’s guaranteed sun! www.shop.designmiami.com

If you’re heading to any of the exhibitions that I might be attending let me know! I’m always up for meeting new people and building like minded relationships in the design world.
