The Power of Instagram Ads for Interior Designers, Property Developers and Furniture Designers
Instagram has become one of the most popular social media platforms for promoting businesses. For interior designers, property developers, and furniture designers, Instagram can be a powerful tool to showcase their projects and attract new clients. However, with so many users and brands vying for attention on the platform, it can be challenging to create Instagram ads that stand out. However with the right approach and strategy, you can use Instagram Ads to increase your brand awareness and attract more customers or clients - it’s how I’ve grown my audience and managed to take my business full time! Let's look at some tips on how to make the most out of Instagram ads.
1.Choose the Right Target Audience
When it comes to targeting an audience with Instagram ads, it’s important to make sure you’re targeting potential customers who are likely to be interested in your product or service. Who are you trying to reach? What are their interests, behaviours, and demographics? Once you’ve defined your target audience, consider creating separate ad campaigns that target different segments of your audience depending on their interests, location, age group, etc. For example, if you’re targeting young professionals who are interested in modern design, you might use bold colours and clean lines in your ad. This will help you ensure that you are reaching people who are genuinely interested in what you have to offer.
2. Optimize Your Ads with Visuals
Instagram is a visual platform, so it’s essential to use high-quality visuals in your ads that stand out from the crowd. Use high-quality images and videos that represent your brand identity, that are visually appealing and showcase your work. Consider creating visuals that focus on specific products or services that you offer so that users can easily understand what it is you have to offer them. Additionally, adding text overlays can also help draw attention to certain aspects of your visuals and provide extra information about what each ad is about.
3. Showcase your work
One of the best ways to attract new clients is to showcase your work. Use your Instagram ads to highlight your latest projects and showcase your design skills. You might include before-and-after photos, videos of your design process, or client testimonials to demonstrate the value of your work.
4. Include a call to action
Your Instagram ad should have a clear call to action (CTA) that tells users what you want them to do next. For example, you might encourage users to visit your website, book a consultation, or follow your Instagram account. Make sure your CTA is prominent and easy to follow. When creating the ad on Instagram, you usually get asked what you want out of the add such as visits to website, follows, or messages. In my case I use the message option so that people can easily message me for more information.
5. Experiment with different ad formats
Instagram offers a variety of ad formats, including photo ads, video ads, carousel ads, and more. Experiment with different formats to see what works best for your brand. For example, you might use carousel ads to showcase multiple images - this has worked particularly well for me - or videos of your work. Remember if you want to promote a reel however, if the share to your Facebook page is toggled and you have already posted it, it will not allow you to boost the reel.
6. Use Instagram targeting options
Now that you know who your target audience is, use Instagram’s targeting options allow you to reach users based on their interests, behaviours, demographics, and more. Take advantage of these options to reach your target audience more effectively. For example, you might target users who follow other interior designers or property development accounts, or who are interested in home renovation. You can also list locations, so if you think your target audience are mainly in large UK cities, you can list London, Birmingham, Manchester, Edinbugh, Glassgow etc etc. The more refined you are with the targeting the better the results will be.
7. Track and analyse your results
It’s essential to track and analyse your results to see how your Instagram ads are performing. Use Instagram’s analytics tools to monitor your ad performance, including reach, engagement, and conversions. Use this data to refine your ad strategy and improve your results over time. In my experience it takes at least 2-3 days for the ads to really start working and gain traction. In the past I have tried ads for 2 weeks with a £2 a day limit and tracked what ones have worked. The one that performs the best, I then extended the time frame and either kept the budget at £2 added more to the daily limit.
8. Engage with Your Followers
In addition to posting your ads or just posting, engaging with followers is key when it comes to gaining more visibility for your business on Instagram. Responding quickly to comments and messages left by followers will help foster relationships between potential customers and build trust in the relationship between yourself and them. You can also create content that encourages users to engage with each other by asking questions or leading conversations related to interior design topics or trends. Doing this will help keep people interested in what you have to offer while also increasing engagement with other followers who may not yet be familiar with your products or services! Stories are a great way to get engagement with your followers particularly when you start utilising Instagram stickers and polls which encourages engagement.
